The clash of the 8 inch tablets

samsung galaxy tab 3 8
Samsung Galaxy3 8
If you on the market for 8’’ tablet following information might help you to decide. We personally thing that two things are most practically important for the end user - screen resolution and the response to touch , scroll, new browser page or an app opening. Something you can do when you go to the electronic store and try to choose one.
In the 8 inch tablet category there is now the following tablets in the order of my overall judgment of their desirability (see specs at the end of each for comparison purposes):
Samsung Tab 3 8 - at 249.00, this is still a bit costly, but it is light, responsive and has a good screen. Probably has a slight edge on reliability over the others.
Specs: 1.5 GHz Samsung Exynos 4210 Dual Core processor, 1.5 GB DDR2 SDRAM memory, 1280 X 800 resolution, Mali 400 GPU, .68 pounds

asus memo pad
Asus Memo 8
Asus Memo 8 - at 229.00, this tablet is a slight bit costly (when you consider the MeMO HD 7 has been seen as low as the $100 range on sale.) ASUS is asking a slight premium for that extra 30% of screen space as compared to the MeMO HD 7. Depending on your preference and the sale price, We rate the Samsung and ASUS a virtual tie for overall value/desirability.
Specs: AMD Quad Core 1.6GHz processor, 1 GB DDR3L SDRAM memory, 1280 X 800 resolution, Mali 400 MP4 graphics, .8 pounds

We did not perform hands on comparison on the effect of the quad core versus two core between Samsung and Asus – any comments on that are welcome.!

Luxottica, the maker of Ray-Ban sunglasses, has struck a deal to design, develop and distribute glasses based on Google's Internet-connected Glass eyewear, potentially bringing the new technology to a wider market.
Google Glass is a small stamp-sized screen attached to a pair of spectacle frames. It can record video, access email, and retrieve information from the web by connecting wirelessly to a user's cell phone.
Italy's Luxottica said on March 25/14  its two major brands, Ray-Ban and Oakley, would be part of the deal, but gave no financial or other details. The new glasses would be ready to hit the market in 2015.
Many technology experts believe wearable computers such as Google Glass will be the next big market for consumer devices, and could mirror the way smartphones evolved from personal computers.
However, some express concern over issues such as privacy intrusion, data security and the safety of wearing internet-connected glasses while performing other tasks.
We already saw couple and commented  of examples where the Google Glass had interaction with the law. Read it here Google Glass and here Lawmaker Seeks To Ban Drivers From Wearing Head Mounted Displays Like Google Glass
The special glasses can be bought by U.S. residents for $1,500 US plus tax, according to Google's website. To reach a wider consumer market, they would have to be put on sale for a much lower price.
In January, Google struck a deal with VSP, the largest optical insurer in North America, which will provide consumers with subsidized frames and prescription lenses for its Glass.
